Enterprise Design for Business Analysts

Business Analysis enables change in an enterprise by defining needs and recommending solutions that deliver value to stakeholders (according to the BABOK definition of the discipline). In this webinar, participants will learn how to extend their Business Analysis toolbox with a set of strategic design tools. This is a follow-up webinar from the first session introducing the Enterprise Design Framework: watch the recording here.
We will discuss how to blend elements from both tools when tackling a Business Analysis assignment:

  • how to best extend analysis to design activities and vice-versa?
  • how to choose perspectives and tools that help navigate the complexity of an enterprise setting to work towards a coherent solution?
Andrew Turner and Milan Guenther will look into the overlap between the Enterprise Design Framework and IIBA’s BABOK as tools for enterprise change:
  • The Enterprise Design Framework is a set of tools for enterprise innovation and transformation by design. It covers 360° blended research, rapid solution co-creation using adapted Design Sprints, a language for mapping enterprises linking different perspectives, and systems for change by design.
  • The Guide to the Business Analysis Body of Knowledge (BABOK) is the definitive community-based and consensus-driven Global Standard in business analysis. It describes business analysis knowledge areas, tasks, underlying competencies, techniques and perspectives on how to approach business analysis.
